Celebrate Constitution Week with CAC
Monday September 16, 2013 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at a Center Forum
Constitution Week is almost here!
For the last four years CAC has hosted a forum during Constitution Week that highlights an individual who has stood up for their beliefs and has been unwavering in their commitment to uphold First Amendment protections as guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution.
On Monday September 16th we are pleased to welcome Kelly
Hayes, a First Amendment advocate and youth community organizer, who participated in the planning of the Chicago NATO protest in the spring of 2012; the Chicago Occupy protests; and the opposition to the City of Chicago's ordinance curtailing First Amendment rights, dubbed by the press as the "Sit Down and Shut Up Ordinance."
Ms. Hayes will discuss her experiences as they relate to the First Amendment freedoms to peaceable assembly and to petition the government.
Event details and additional information are below.
